Bake/Cook MY Day! 

 Kids cooking classes are a fun and hands-on way for children to explore creativity while learning valuable life skills. Through guided activities, they practice measuring, mixing, and following recipes — all while discovering the joy of preparing their own food. These classes encourage confidence, teamwork, and healthy eating habits in an engaging, age-appropriate environment.

🍰 Baking & Cooking at The Patch
Step into the kitchen and get ready for some delicious fun! Our Baking & Cooking classes let kids mix, measure, and create tasty treats while learning real-life kitchen skills. From fluffy cupcakes and homemade pizzas to healthy snacks and seasonal favorites, every class is a new adventure in flavor and creativity. Kids will build confidence, teamwork, and a love for cooking — all while making a happy mess and even happier memories. At The Patch, we believe the best learning happens one bite at a time!

Leveled Cooking/Baking Program Starting in January!

Level 1 — Kitchen Basics

Perfect for beginners. Students learn safety, simple techniques, and how to follow basic recipes.
Focus: Confidence & foundational skills.
Kids Must Complete Level 1 Before Advancing.

Skills Learned

  • Kitchen safety rules & handwashing

  • Using measuring cups and spoons correctly

  • Stirring, mixing, sprinkling, spreading

  • Identifying basic ingredients

  • Following simple step-by-step directions

  • Working as a team in the kitchen

Sample Level 1 Recipes

  • Fluffy cupcakes with simple frosting

  • Build-your-own mini pizzas

  • Fruit kabobs and yogurt dip

  • No-bake cookies

  • Veggie & cheese roll-ups

End-of-Level Milestone

✔ Earn the Level 1 Kitchen Helper Certificate

⭐⭐ Level 2 — Recipe Readers & Junior Chefs

More independence. Students begin handling slightly more complex ingredients and tools while understanding how recipes work.
Focus: Technique development & recipe reading.
Must complete Level 1 to enroll.

Skills Learned

  • Understanding recipe parts: ingredients vs. instructions

  • Safe use of kid-friendly knives & cutting skills

  • Measuring both wet and dry ingredients accurately

  • Mixing methods: fold, whisk, cream, knead (beginner level)

  • Basic stove-top or griddle safety (teacher-supervised)

  • Flavor building: sweet, salty, savory

Sample Level 2 Recipes

  • Homemade pasta or tortillas

  • Seasonal muffins or breads

  • Stir-fry veggies with simple sauces

  • Build-your-own sliders or quesadillas

  • Cookie decorating techniques

End-of-Level Milestone

✔ Earn the Level 2 Junior Chef Certificate

⭐⭐⭐ Level 3 — The Patch Master Chefs

Our top level! Students demonstrate strong skills, create multi-step recipes, and even begin light menu planning.
Focus: Creativity, precision, & advanced technique.
Must complete Level 2 to join.

Skills Learned

  • Independently reading and executing multi-step recipes

  • Advanced measuring and portioning

  • Using timers, thermometers, and understanding doneness

  • Introduction to baking science (why ingredients matter)

  • Knife skills: dicing, slicing, chiffonade (age-appropriate tools)

  • Plating & presentation basics

  • Creating their own recipe variations

Sample Level 3 Recipes

  • Handmade ravioli or dumplings

  • Layered cakes or specialty cupcakes

  • Stir-fry with protein and custom sauces

  • Artisan-style pizzas with homemade dough

  • Creative “Chopped-style” mini challenges

End-of-Level Milestone

🏆 Earn the Level 3 Master Chef Certificate
🎉 Students are celebrated at a mini ceremony & can help mentor younger chefs.
